Sorry, I can't fix that issue.
Google did some changes, which causes the issue. Problem is that the extension and the browser has to use different login methods. And the session what initialized by the extension can not be shared with "browser" itself anymore.
I don't know, will it be possible to fix it in the feature or not.
By the way, a solution could be if you log in to Google Reader on their home page and when you do this, you check the "Stay signed in" checkbox below the password field.

Same problem here with same Firefox version.
By other hand, if the application is international (and it's translated into several languages) can not be directed to a page where the main language throughout the interface is: Romanian?
